i don’t know who made this advent calendar, but whoever did, did not plan very well.
they should know better than to plan a time consuming activity for a crazy day like a thursday when people are running here and there.
today our advent activity read: ” make and decorate sugar cookies together”.
if you’ve ever made sugar cookies with kids (or without kids) you know it’s not a quick little project.
there are steps involved.
first you make the dough. then you refrigerate the dough. then you clean up. then you roll out the cookies and bake them. then you clean up. then you let them cool. then you make the frosting. then you decorate the cookies. then you clean up. again.
well, it’s almost midnight and as promised, i am blogging about our advent today.
we made the cookies and frosted them. (well most of us did. one of us was caroling with the cub scouts.)
here’s the proof.
Only 22 days left before Christmas!
You are AWESOME! We do manage to do cookies sometime in December, but it requires days or weeks of preparing myself physically and mentally—I don’t know that I could do it just because my calendar told me :). So good to see the blog going again! I miss you and have wondered what you’ve been up to lately besides taking fabulous pictures!
Great photos Wendy. Any frosting on the lens? I don’t know how how you all you do, and document it so well.
I don’t know how to proof read before clicking send. Or where that little profile photo of me on the right came from…
YUMMY! Can you send me some???
It took me years to figure out that sugar cookies are way too time consuming and messy to make. In the meantime we have made many together, do you remember?, just like you are doing with your family. They look like they are taking it very seriously too. Glad it is you this time and not me (except your kids are fun to make things with). Love and Happy Day!
