Thanks for the kudos on my pictures in the last post!
Remember back when I made New Year’s Resolutions? Yeah, I didn’t think so. It was awhile ago. On my list was improving my photo skills. Well, I’ve been doing a little research, a little mooching tips off others (thanks Sherine and Becky), and watching “expert photographers” on Youtube. All in preparation for my solo trip to see meet my newest nephew this weekend.
While I’m nowhere near proficient in manual mode, I am working hard to improve. My goal is to avoid shooting in Auto mode and to rarely use a flash.
In the meantime, I LOVE Photoshop Elements! It’s a ton of fun to use and makes my mediocre pictures look fabulous.
See for yourself. The first picture is straight out of the camera. The second is made to look like pictures from the 70s. The third picture is an action called Orton.
I could never be a photog. because I can’t see a lot of difference. other than the pics are all good. Tell me about your dog. He is cool looking and looks like he not be too sheddy.
I totally LOVE photography and I love photoshopping, so how do you do the 70’s ones? And how do you get the black edging circle thing (like on the 4-wheeler picture)? I’m working on manual and no flash too, sometimes it’s hard, but MAN does it look so much better!
Loving them Wendy!
The photograpy was great! I am all thumbs in that arena and yet love photoshop!
Enjoy a fabulous weekend with your sisters and Mom if she is going to come up north too… Especially sweet little Hudson.
Please give your mom a huge hug from this friend who has never met her…yet cares about her for Mother’s day!
Didn’t you live near Alexandria at one time? We are headed in that direction this weekend. Wish I had your photo skills! 🙂
I’m just learning some about PS – thanks for the insights! xJ

I love your treatments to these pictures! Photoshop is one of my favorite programs. I love playing around with the different effects. It’s amazing how much you can do!
Those are some really great photos! I have a fancy camera and I don’t know how to use it…well, except for on the automatic setting. LOL
Stopping by from SITS to say hi!
Come say hi to me sometime!

i am visiting from SITS, I am really enjoying viewing your photos.
I Love photoshop as well. I use CS3 now and boy is it overwhelming. But liquify and healing brush rock! I look 21 and in shape in all my shot! Keeping the illusion alive, on the internet at least!
So sweet. Love that last one…I had to swallow the lump in my throat to say “yes” to my friends’ invite that my kids get pulled on a fourwheeler behind a truck…I was raised in LA, CA so you just don’t do that kind of thing…but we are officially Alaskans now, I think! 🙂
I am a manual learning Photoshop elements user too! Love it!
Visiting from SITS….I *love* the 70’s action! Where did you find it? I have CS2.
Your pictures remind me of where I grew up!
Have you been here: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-ppphoto ? It’s a great group of ladies who can help develop your photo taking/editing skills. Good eye, sista!
So cool! I like the 70s effect. Awesome 🙂
