I loved getting a taste of living in the Big City.

Visiting old friends was fantastic!

Venturing off the tourist path and into the heart of inner China Town was eye opening!  Who knew you could buy live frogs at the meat market?

Mother’s Day brunch at Ashley’s in-laws was relaxing and wonderful.

The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful.

Despite all that, I was happy to come home to my family.

They were equally excited for me to come home so they could show me their surprise(s):

bunnies

I seem to recall something about being on the fence?  I guess we toppled off it finally.  Surprise.  Surprise.

Happy Belated Monday!

  1. Was so great to spend time with you although way too short! LOVE the addition to your family. When the Mom’s away……

  2. Will’s face with those bunnies is hilarious:) I have to comment on this now that my kids are asleep so as to avoid the “MOOMM … can we PLEASE get a bunny!” chorus that I’m sure would follow.

  3. The picture of you in Chinatown looks just like Maddy! I love it. I’m glad you had such a fun time. I’m afraid we influenced Ralf to come over to the dark side… But he bought five of them?? Ha ha – I laughed about that. We only got two!

  4. My son is too young to request pets yet — but I know I’m in for it sooner than later! Glad you had a great time in SF!

  5. The bunnies are almost as adorable as the baby, but not quite. My son would be super excited to get those as a gift. You will have to keep us posted on your blog about taking care of them.

Oh and your pics from San Fran were amazing too!

  6. Those are BEAUTIFUL pictures. I keep saying I’m going to visit San Fran (esp. since I’m only in SOUTHERN Cali…) and I haven’t yet.

  7. Visiting from SITS. I love all of your photos!! I always wanted bunnies when I was growing up. That picture is so cute 🙂

  8. How fun, I love San Fran. Also, I have to say that your family is adorable! So nice to meet you Idaho girl. I grew up in Utah and my family still lives there. I miss them so much…enjoy your day! 🙂

  9. Ooooh… I love Fishermans Wharf! San Fran is so fun, but it’s nice to come back home to a small town 🙂 Your pictures are gorgeous!

  10. I stared at that “Fisherman’s Wharf” picture for a good minute. Having been born and raised in the Bay Area (living 4 hours north now — NOT by the ocean, I should add!) I miss it so much. I don’t miss the living costs. Just the salty cool air and the regular fashion of shorts and a sweatshirt in summertime, once the sun begins to set of course! The scent of fresh fish and the yelps of sea lions basking in the sun.

When I’m there, I feel like I’m home. Thank goodness we’re going down to Monterey to see my mom in September! I don’t think I could stand to be away from the ocean much longer!

  11. Love the pictures! I too am curious what camera and photo editing program you use.

The bunnies are why I’m commenting though. We let our two run around the back yard with my rottie and cats during the warm months and then they go in the “cat room” during the cold months. This morning I was chasing Spice in the rain to bring her in since it was cool and wet. Sugar is blind and he’s easy to catch.

    Have fun with the bunnies!

  12. Ah, yes. My old stomping grounds! I grew up in Walnut Creek! We were neighbors! Did you grow up in Danville? What high school did you go to? I was at Las Lomas, class of ’95 🙂

  13. You got some fabulous pictures. How cool that you got a sister weekend … love it ( I need to do that with my 2 sisters).

Those bunnies look so sweet. Sometimes surprises are wonderful!

    *the baby is B*E*A*U*T*F*U*L!!!!!
