I’ve written several times here on my blog about how I believe every woman should have a picture of themselves that makes their heart sing. Not a glamour shot. Not a picture of themselves that has been so Photoshopped to death that the person in the photo holds no resemblance to them. But an image of their true outer beauty that reflects their true inner beauty.
Each of us, at some point in our youth, felt beautiful and attractive. Someone worthy of a catcall from the closest construction worker at least. It might have been the day we got married, or the day we graduated from school, or the day we landed that big promotion. No matter what day it was, we felt beautiful! And we still are, but our beauty and attractiveness are hiding behind spit-up and garden dirt, sleepless nights and teenage worry, Play-Doh and peanut butter. Deadlines and bills. Health concerns and just plain life. I believe we owe it to our spouses, our friends, our partners, our families, but most especially to ourselves to take the time and the effort to unearth that inner and outer beauty again and SHINE.
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of collaborating with some of Danville, California’s top beauty businesses to bring that SHINE back to several fantastic women. The Fringe Hair Salon and Spa hosted a day of pampering. The amazing artists at The Fringe styled their hair, and the women from Bellici Cosmetics gave them complete make-overs. I then spent some time with each woman for a mini head shot session. Here are a few of those images:
These sessions are some of my very favorites because they are so rewarding to women. If you don’t have a picture of yourself that makes your heart sing, contact me. I would love to do a session or get several of your friends together and make a night of it.
Happy Tuesday!
(20 on Tuesday is busy getting kids through the last hectic week of school and will be back next week with an amazing photographer who has Photo Shop mastered. His images should be familiar and on your Flickr Favorites! I can’t wait!)
Such fabulous images of very beautiful women. I wish I had a portrait like this!
