Art Display Project | Kara Jo Eaton

I know I said Sarah Cornish was the very last guest blogger.  I lied.  Well, not exactly lied.  More like I “lost” one of my guest bloggers in the disarray that is my desk at the moment.  Kara Jo Eaton even sent me all of her information early so I wouldn’t have to hound her last minute.  And instead, she ended up having to hound me because I totally skipped over her.  A BIG HUGE apology to Kara Jo!  And with that, let’s take a look at her creative and beautiful display ideas!

I have a little bit of an obsession with wall art. I still remember, the very first time I walked into a friend’s house who had huge canvas pictures of her kids in her entryway and being in pure awe. I don’t think there is a better way to decorate your house than to decorate it with pictures of your children and your memories.
My very first canvas I had made was for my daughter’s room. It is sized 24 x 30 and hangs above her bookshelf.  I have the goal to replace this every 2-3 years, but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I still love it. It reminds me of her toddler years.
I decided I loved storyboards and printed a 10 x 20 to place above her dresser. I think it’s so fun to have an activity played out somehow in your wall art.
In Jack’s room I decided to try a standout for the first time (and loved them). His picture above his rocker is  24 x 36. I just love BIG pictures. I think they always give that wow factor!  Then a few pictures of the kids together above his crib, three 12 x 12s.
In the kids/guest bathroom, I also did standouts, three 8 x 8s and one 16 x 24.
In my living area I did a wall gallery with my beautiful session from Stephanie Moore Studios. I decided to do Canvas gallery wraps. Four 16 x 16 and two 16 x 24s.
The last area (and the most recent) is in our entry way.  I just had my kids do a session with the talented Skye Johansen and we printed three 16 x 24s, which I absolutely love.
My house is kind of small (1350 sq ft) so thats about all my house can handle. I have big dreams for a bigger house (someday!)
Thanks, Kara Jo!

The winner of the 16×24 will be announced later this morning!!!
