This has been a crazy week here in Danville for our family, full of end-of-the-year school activities, a day of Hot Mama head shots, and getting everything ready for my daughter’s Sweet 16 party tomorrow. Whew! I’ll need a vacation if I survive that!
With this week’s theme of Broken, I had a little bit of a brain freeze. I didn’t really want to shoot anything too depressing or have to break something just to get the shot for this week. I suppose I could have shot the shattered Corningware lid that my son accidentally dropped as he was emptying the dishwasher, but I was too busy cleaning the shards of glass to think about taking a picture. So, when I took the boys to the pool at the end of a very long day this week, I looked at the still, glassy, untouched surface and thought, “It’s a shame the boys are going to jump into the pool and break the tranquility of the water. It’s so pretty with the sun setting right now.” DING DING DING. So I held them back for a minute while I set up the shot and knew I had to get it right the first time. This was a one shot opportunity. Here’s the result:
Now, be sure to check out my very talented friend Val Spring | Red Balloon Photography Seattle Photographer to see what she had to break to get this week’s shot!
And if you missed last week’s custom album cover design, you can take a peek over HERE. It was a fantastic week for our circle of photographers!
Happy Weekending!
And stay tuned for a few sneak peeks of some Hot Mamas this weekend.
