I’ve been waiting for this day for 15 long years. I’ve had visions of what I’d do with my vast amounts of time, including lunch with friends, cleaning my house uninterrupted, trips to the mall, …naps.
So why was I so sad to see my baby off to kindergarten last week?
Bittersweet.
It either means I’m reminded how old I’m getting, or I love being with my kids.
It’s probably a little of both.
But I can guarantee this bittersweet feeling was not shared by him.
He could not WAIT to get to “real” school.
I offered to drive him his first day but he promptly declined my offer, preferring to take the big yellow bus instead.
Sigh…
I guess there’s nothing left for me to do but… go to lunch with friends, clean my house, and go shopping.
Bittersweet, I tell ya!
I love these photos – so fun!! What a big day!!
GREAT shots! He’s so excited!! Very adorable.
That is a feeling that every mother has and yet it is still hard to bear. You’d better get your calendar out and post those lunches with friends on it to pass the time. He looks so happy to finally be going to kindergarten!
what a big boy! I can’t believe he didn’t let you take him. I would cry great big tears. I’m sure he’s been waiting and waiting and waiting for his turn to go off to school, too. these are so much fun and so creative! love!

my kids would LOVE to ride the bus but it isn’t an option for us.
