It seems like ages since I posted for this lifestyle project that began several years ago. But it’s a project that’s close to my heart because sometimes it’s the only thing that motivates me to pull out the big camera and shoot my own family and our little life story. Sometimes my family only gets documented with my iphone, which is better than nothing, but even better would be big beautiful photos of our life as we’re living it. And that needs to happen more often so I’m super excited to be revisiting this personal project this year with an extremely talented group of women from all over the globe.
This month I’ve chosen to document the end of a day last month when we played “tourists” with a good friend of mine who came out to visit me for the weekend. Living in the Bay Area, we don’t do the typical “tourists” things very often. We should but we don’t. I’ve never even been to Alcatraz or walked the Golden Gate Bridge or driven that windy road in San Francisco. So we decided to do “the tourist thing” – explore the city, Pier 39, the sea lions and all. We drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and headed out to Rodeo Cove just as the sun was headed toward the horizon. The sand was washed in golden light and it was a little bit of magic to end the day.
Be sure to make the rounds of this month’s circle for a peek into the lives of my friends and fellow photographers beginning with Kara May.
