What Spring Break Looks Like | San Francisco Bay Area Photographer

What Spring Break Looks Like is this month’s theme.

We spent our break in Maui this year, our favorite spot to vacation.  It might have been our last spring break together as the six of us.  I’m posting far too many photos this month and believe it or not, this is just a smidgen of the photos I took during our trip.  But if I don’t post them now, I may never get around to transferring them off my cards and ready to print.  So settle in and get comfortable and experience Maui with the VonSosens, family style.

If you don’t make it to the end, please continue through the circle to the talented Kara May of Kara May Photography  for a glimpse at her life last month.

Our top 10 Spring Break Moments:

1.  Encountering a large pod of Hawaiian spinner dolphins while on a snorkeling trip to Lanai

2.  Frozen chocolate covered bananas at the banana stand at McKenna Beach

3.  Zip-lining through the “jungle”

4.  Snow cone hour at the Marriott

5.  Snorkeling at Black Rock, Kapalua Bay, Lanai, and Ka’anapali Beach

6.  Ululani’s shaved ice in Lahaina

7.  Easter Sunday at the Lahaina Ward

8. Sleeping in!

9.  Watching Jack feed the birds on the beach while the people around us got irritated

10.  Posing as potential buyers at the art galleries in Lahaina.

  1. Love these!! Maui is one of my favorite places to vacation. We were married on Maui and honeymooned on Lana’i so both those places hold a special place in my heart. Your last picture is beautiful!!

  2. So wonderful to see you all enjoying yourself on vacation! When I see your photos, I’m always so in awe that each photo represents the personality of each of your kids. Although I’ve never meet them, I feel like I know a little bit about them through your images. 🙂

  3. never too many. you capture such a wonderful variety, and everyone in your family is so natural, so willing to be together and make proof of it. the age span, the little interactions and quality of their relationships really shone this month. the place is surely heavenly, and you do it such justice. i have never been to maui, but somehow you gave us all the essence of it, paired with that of your beautiful family, who i gather is as much so inside. you are a lovely photographer, yes, but you are also a great mom. xo
